The climb into Canada is getting Shorter and Faster

October 5, 2018-Ottawa, ON-The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), is celebrating the one Year anniversary of Bill C-6. It came into effect October 11, 2017. This Bill has made the climb in becoming Canadian shorter and faster. There has been greater flexibility, reduced time to be physically present in Canada from 4 out of 6 years to 3 out of 5 years. There has been a 40% increase in helping qualified applicants get faster citizenship.

There are 72 special ceremonies across Canada to pay homage to this. Ceremonies start at the top of the CN Tower, details can be found at Canada.ca/celebrate-citizenship. As well as celebrating Bill C-6, the IRCC is celebrating the outstanding achievements of women who helped shape Canada.

Immigration is an integral and critical part of growth in Canada. It is only through the increase in immigrants that we can sustain ourselves economically 6as the birth rate has declined over the years. Bill C-6 Has allowed more applications from permanent residents. Despite the increase in applications from 102,261 to 242,680, double the amount over a period of 9 months, processing time remains under 12 months.
