The ABC’s of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program

As the most industrialized province in Canada, Ontario is always looking for new immigrants with ambition and particular skill sets to help the province maintain its high standard of living.

Here at The Judi Simms Paralegal Professional Corporation, we’ve been in business since 1994 and can help you with sorting through the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP.) Like many other government programs that have been put together to increase the size of Ontario’s population and welcome qualified people, this program has undergone changes as it adjusts to suit the needs of a growing province.

Remember we are always available to help you and have put together a few of the bigger takeaways from the program to give you a good idea of what it’s all about.

What it is.

OINP is designed to expedite the immigration applications of people who have a job offer in Ontario. The program also helps fill slots for skilled workers in the province. This program is open to foreign nationals and temporary residents and has been used by many as a permanent stream towards permanent residency in Canada

The Categories.

There are several categories for interested people to apply to. The first is a general section and to qualify here you must live outside Canada or inside the country with a specific legal status that might even include a work permit.

To qualify under this general category you must have a job offer as well from someone in Ontario. Both you and the employer must qualify under several other standards as well.

Remember, we currently have six people on staff to better assist you when you are working through the requirements for the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program. We have associations with other immigration agencies in different countries and several facilities right here in Canada that can help with placement as well.

There are other categories under the program for international students and international Masters and PhD graduates as well.

The corporate and entrepreneurial departments often depend on how much money you are able to invest in Ontario and your ability to create at least five permanent full-time positions for Canadians as a corporation.

The Judi Simms Paralegal Professional Corporation has the kind of experience in immigration matters that should put your mind at ease. We also have a full complement of other services ranging from small claims court to personal injury law. Call us for help with your Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program.
